Really? You based an estimate on one guy?
When the IPCC said that the Himalaya glaciers would “very likely” be melted by 2035, it got that from one source, one scientist, who recently told the New York Times that he was “misquoted.”
One source? Come on. Only the laziest journalist would make that mistake.
Scientists have a heavy load to bear. In a sense, they have to be perfect. People are going to take any excuse to ignore the problem of global warming. And since the data is clear about a long-term warming trend, skeptics can only attack the scientists who collect it. Even as they have no obligation to the scientific method, skeptics attack others for not following it. It’s a bit of asymmetrical warfare, but scientists have to try not to give any more ammunition, through questionable methods, than they’ve already given.
